The pottery and cafe at Morris and James and the Saturday morning Matakana Farmers Market. We can organise excellent wine tours for you or assist you plan an independent itinerary around the local vineyards and wineries.Hauraki Gulf & Environs Sandspit Wharf for the ferries to Kawau Island and the historic Mansion House, home of Governor Sir George Grey an important figure in New Zealand's colonial history. Cruise the Kawau Kat as it operates the daily Royal Mail Run.Still on the water are ferries from Gulf Harbour to Tiritiri Matangi Island, a native bird sanctuary where some of New Zealand's endangered bird species are successfully building new colonies. For great diving and snorkelling there is the marine reserve at Goat Island with an abundance of marine life and also glass bottom boats for more leisurely viewing. There are also the pristine beaches of Mahurangi and Tawharanui regional parks.There are charters to explore Kawau Bay and the Gulf and also great fishing on a Kawau Island based boat - Top Cat.
Horseriding Locally there is horseriding for all levels of experience at a variety of places however a favourite with tourists is the ride along the beautiful deserted Pakiri beach with Pakiri Horseride which we can easily organise for you.GolfRoss is a golfer and can organise a variety of golfing experiences either hosted or independent. From Waipiata there are a variety of top quality golf courses within an easy drive including the world class Gulf Harbour Country Club. The world renowned Kauri Cliffs Golf Course is just 3 hours by car or a scenic 45 - 50 minutes flight by helicopter.Hiking Your hosts Natalie and Ross can advise you on short and long, easy and testing hiking adventures in the local area.
